I use this solar charger on my bass boat, it keeps my trolling motor battaries charged. Unfortunately, the Novothink Surge Solar Charger for the iPhone 3G and 3GS serves only as an additional battery. The meter that indicates how much energy is going to the battery via the solar panels on the back, even in the strongest sunlight, goes only up to 1.5 (out of 4). Even with hours of sunlight, the battery does not seem to recharge at all, and instead requires the use of the AC adapter to charge the battery in the case. I bought the item to help keep the battery on our camper maintained during a long camping week. We typically could only make it 2 1/2 days on a battery before we needed to recharge with the solar maintainer we made it a little over 3 days. It helped but doesn’t bring the battery to full charge after a days use.
