Worked so well for my work, I ordered a second one for my wife to replace the Jabra HFK. Haven’t actually tried using it with 2 phones yet, so can’t comment on that aspect. Solar charging works as expected, haven’t had to charge it since the initial charge via the USB.

How many solar cells would I need to charge and run my laptop at he same time.?
The cable charger solar cells brick thing says 100-240v 50-60hz 1.5A input. The output is 19v and 3.95AI was planning on using the solar cells out of the outside lamps that line the walkways ot houses.

A solar cell is a device which changes sunlight into electricity. A more technical term for a solar cell is a photovoltaic cell.

The term "photo" derives from the Greek word for "light," and the term "voltaic" comes from the word "volt" which means "electrical force." A "cell" is a small receptacle or container containing electrodes which generate power.

Thus, a photovoltaic cell is a container that creates electric force, through light.

Whereas a solar cell can generate electricity from any light source, its intended use is the collection of solar energy from the sun.

How a Solar Cell Works

The solar cell works as follows:

Photons (which are particles of light in sun rays) hit the surface of the solar cell and are absorbed a semiconductor, such as silicon.

These photons (bits of sunlight) knock electrons loose from the atoms inside the semiconductor. The photons then push the electrons along, leaving a "gap" in the atom. Another electron is then pulled from an adjacent atom to fill the gap. And so an electrical flow is generated.

The simplicity of this is that one atom has an extra electron, and the other atom is missing one. This is referred to as a "difference in potential." Nature, wanting to remain balanced, tries to even things out by pulling another electron from the neighboring atom.

A solar panel is comprised of a group of solar cells which are linked together to produce the desired amount of electrical energy.

A group of solar cells linked together can also be referred to as a "module." Thus the terms "solar panel," and "solar module," are synonymous to each other, and essentially mean the exact same thing. "Solar panel" is the more solar cells common term, and "solar module" is the technical term.

One can use solar panels individually or one can link several together in order to generate more electricity. When a group of solar panels are linked together, it is called a "solar array". The more solar panels are included in a solar array, the more power they produce.

Solar Power is a clean and virtually unlimited source of energy. I say "virtually unlimited" because the sun itself won't last forever. But we won't have to worry about that for the next few billion years.

Since solar power is a clean energy source which has been around for decades, one might wonder why its not used more. The answer to this lies partially in the cost of producing solar panels, as well as in the efficiency of the solar panels.

We are currently in the second generation of solar panel technology and verging on the third. A lot has changed since the first generation. Solar panels a are becoming a viable source of clean energy.

The solar cells of earlier times were relatively large and bulky compared to our current models. In view of the amount of energy and material required to produce them, and the amount of energy they actually produced, it was more costly to use solar energy than to use fossil fuels. The only exception was in places where little or no fossil fuels were available, such as in space.

With the second-generation solar cells, we attempted to tackle this exact problem. We attempted improve manufacturing techniques so as to reduce the costs, materials and energy needed for the production of solar cells.

Recently, major advances have been made in the production of solar cells, which have reduced production costs.

One contribution in this area was the development of techniques to coat glass or ceramic materials with very thin layers of semi-conductive substances. This made it possible to produce solar panels using only a fraction of the semi-conductive material that was required earlier. The production of solar panels using this second-generation technology is referred to as "Thin Film Technology."

Third-generation solar energy technologies are currently being researched and developed. The objective is to improve the power of solar cells even further (while keeping production costs to a minimum) in which case thirty to sixty percent of the sunlight hitting the panels will be converted into electricity. (Currently, solar panels convert only about twenty percent.)

But regardless of third generation solar technology, the second-generation solar cell is efficient enough to make solar technology viable - and a host of new solar-powered products have hit the consumer market.

Solar-powered calculators have been in use for a while now, we've all seen them. We have even seen a few other novelty devices. But only in the last few years have solar devices come into serious and practical use.

The last two years in particular have seen a virtual explosion of solar devices hitting the market. Solar flashlights (I've often wandered what use they were), solar-powered radios, and, recently, solar battery chargers.

One can also now find a wide range of portable solar chargers and panels, which are lightweight and easy to transport, yet capable of providing a decent amount of power in even the most remote locations. Solar chargers are becoming a standard part of wilderness survival kits and emergency preparedness kits.

All of this is a result of the developments in solar cell technology, and the coming of the Solar Age.

The radio picks up absolutely no AM stations, although another “emergency” radio at the same location does. FM tuning is “dicey,” but acceptable. The slide switch that is supposed to indicate AM, FM, WB (1–7) or Cell doesn’t point to anything in particular although it does seem to work–you just have to count the “clicks.” The battery that holds the crank or solar charge will likely require replacement at some time, although there’s nothing about that in the included documentation or the user’s manual from the Eton web site. There is no information about battery maintenance (e.g., should it be drained periodically).

Are there any solar cell phone and iPod chargers out there that are compatible with ALL cell phones?

solar pv Free Significant Guide

Let me start by thanking Bob for putting together a simple but in depth education from start to finish. I have reviewed some so called training courses and it was basically a bad video and a few words. Bob teaches you basic electronics which is all you will need to know, with diagrams and video instruction that will show you exactly how to do it. All you have to do is buy the equipment and truly follow the dvd’s and you will build your system. These video’s are by far the best you will ever get for this small price. Bob, again thank you for caring enough to put together these college quality dvd’s. My advice is if you want quality education without having to go to college. You better buy these dvd’s. He even gives you a tool list you will need to get the job done.

Solar PV Cell how made at home?
These days in Pakistan and in other countries face power shortage while we have planty solar pv of Sun light unfortunately the Solar Tecnology is too expensive and we have lack of knowledge. If we made a solar cell then our invertor who charge Battery from electricity can do from sun light without touching electrcity.

Solar PV photovoltaics are a series of cells that have within them materials that can convert solar radiation into direct current electricity. More specifically it is the technology that can convert sunlight into electricity. The sun's rays can give up to one thousand volts of electricity per square meter of the earth's surface on a sunny day. If all of that electricity could be harnesses we would be able to power our homes for free.

The use of solar PV is wide. It can be used to create electrical power in the home, to power the electric cars, and street lights to name a few. Photovoltaics have been used as far back as 1958, however their application was primarily in space. They are most widely used at present in solar powered calculators which need only light to operate.

PV cells have materials called semiconductors which are silicon and are most commonly used. When light hits the cell solar pv a portion of that light is absorbed in the semiconductor material. Energy in that light is transferred to the semiconductor which loosens electrons which then flow freely in a certain direction. This flow of electrons is a current that can be used as power when metal contacts are placed at the top and bottom of the PV cell. The current and the cell's voltage tell us how much wattage the solar cell can produce.

The use of solar energy is not yet prevalent enough to find everyone using it but there are a few people that feel they can help the environment with the use of solar PV. With the cost of electricity on the rise and the economy spiraling downward, more people are interested in saving on their utility bills or totally eliminating them with the use of solar power. Solar PV is an alternative power generating resource that can save money and do its part in saving the planet. There is much talk about global warming and the greenhouse effect and the use of solar PV, as an alternative power source, can make us feel good about ourselves as we do our part.

The Best make a solar panel Information Is Found Here

I have gotten at lesat 10 times the value of my purchase from my make a solar panel. make a solar panel has completely surpassed my expectations.

How do you make solar panels work better?
Well, we're having a solar car competition tomorrow at school, and since my car's motor and belt make a solar panel drive don't work too well, I need a way to make the car go faster. Since I can't have any other source of energy other than the solar panel, is there any way I could make it better? Like with stuff you'd have around the house? Or possible improvements on the car itself?

Our environment is ever changing and it is getting worst everyday. The need to use renewable and environment friendly energy is the move that we should take. We have to make use of what is available to us and what is provided to us. We have to take advantage of winds blowing, waters rushing and the sun shining.

We all know that we can get power from the sun, electric power from the sun. although not everyone knows how to make homemade solar panels since those panels which are sold in the market is quite expensive. It is quite brilliant to make use of solar energy which we can consider free, although we have to invest on materials make a solar panel like these solar panels in order to enjoy the benefits that this free energy gives.

Here are the steps which one can do in order to make homemade solar panels. 1) Gather the things you need, example: plywood, screws, caulk and tools which will help in attaching and building the solar panels. 2) Make a grid in the plywood that you have, the size varies depending on how much you want it, as well as the number of panels to be attached into the plywood. The grid will be the determining factor in the size of the plywood base.

To continue with the steps on making solar panels, here are the other steps. 3) Using a circular saw, cut the plywood into the desired size based on the size of the grid. 4) Get a 1 by 1 inch wood that will be attached to the plywood with the use of caulk and screws. 5) Paint your wood and plywood to protect it from outside elements. 6) As much as possible, take caution in joining your cells in a series. 7) Glue the solar panels into the wood base you have made earlier. 8)  Attach a copper wire to run electricity and the diode which will prevent the batteries to discharge. 9) Secure the solar panels with a plexiglass and seal it with caulk.

Now your homemade solar panel is finished. The electricity to be generated depends on the solar panels attached, the wattage, the amount of sunlight that the panels are receiving. Make homemade solar panels now and power your home using free energy. Get rid of electricity problems now, go solar!

Great little controller – like one of the other reviewers, I’m using it for a “larger-than-normal” solar fountain. I used a deep cycle marine battery, 60 watt panel, and a bilge pump that draws about 3 amps as well as a small inverter to drive a UV lamp inside my canister filter (adds about 1/2 amp). Doesn’t let the battery run down too deep and comes back on when the battery is charged back up. I was going to fabricate something myself using a comparator and a relay, but for the price of this I figured why bother building it!

In this article, I am going to go through what each component of a solar power system does, and what role the piece plays in the system.  You don't have to include every component in every solar system, but each component does a particular role.  A typical solar power system produces electricity, stores the electricity using batteries to be used later and then converts the DC electricity from the battery to the same type of Alternating Current electricity that comes out of the wall sockets in your house.

Solar Panels

The first part of a solar power system is the solar panels, which produce electricity using energy from the sun.  Sunlight, in the form of photons, hits the panel, which knocks loose electrons from a layer of silicon.  The electrons are sent through wires and become electricity.  Many solar cells, each of which generates about one half volt are put together to make a single solar panel.  It is possible to generate any voltage by putting together the proper number of solar cells.  You can actually build your own solar panel and produce your own free electricity pretty cheaply and easily.  To read more about how to build your own solar panel, see DIY Solar Panel.

Charge Controller

The power is used solar charge controller by the charge controller to charge the batteries. The charge controller makes sure that the voltage going to the batteries is in the right range. It also gradually lowers the power sent to the batteries as they get closer to fully charged to make sure the batteries don't overcharge. After the batteries are fully charged, it will also "top off" the batteries if the batteries fall below full charge to make sure the batteries remain fully charged. For more information about charge controllers, check out All About Solar Charge Controllers.

Batteries

Standard 12 volt batteries like you find in your car are used in most solar systems.  Sealed lead acid are the most common type.  These batteries are rugged, cheap and easy to find.  The only potential downside is weight, but it isn't really much of a problem since you aren't going to be moving the batteries around.  You often can find batteries from surplus computer UPS systems for cheap or even free.

Power Inverter

The batteries store and put out 12v Direct Current (DC), but the appliances in your house use 120v Alternating Current (AC).  A power inverter transforms the 12v DC electricity into 120v AC so you can use the electricity to power regular appliances.  There are two types of power inverter:  Modified Sine Wave (MSW) and True Sine Wave (TSW).  Of the two, TSW is the better one because it perfectly matches the electricity that comes from the sockets in your home.  MSW is cheaper than TSW, but it is generally worth it in the long run to pay more for a TSW inverter.

Complete Solar Power System

Now let's put all the pieces together into a complete solar system.  You generally mount the solar panels on the roof.  The solar panels are connected together with wires which then deliver the electricity to the charge controller.    The batteries are charged by the charge controller with the power coming from the solar panels.  The batteries are charged all day while sunlight is hitting the solar panels.  All day, while sunlight is hitting the solar panels, the batteries store the power generated by the panels.  The DC electricity from the batteries is converted into the standard 120v AC electricity that your appliances are used to by the power inverter.  This type of solar system can be small enough to power just a single device or big enough to power your whole house.

To see how much it would cost for enough solar panels to provide electricity to your entire house, check out this guide to Solar Panel Cost.
